Templeton Rye

The new flagship (launched November 2024), replacing the old 80-proof 4-Year. Minimum 4 years, 90 proof, non-chill filtered. 95% rye / 5% malted barley sourced from MGP. Designed for cocktails with more presence than its predecessor.

The original flagship — MGP 95/5 rye at 80 proof. Double Gold at SF World Spirits 2020. Being phased out in favor of the new higher-proof Straight Rye expression.

The step-up expression. MGP 95/5 rye aged 6 years at 91.5 proof. Noticeably more complex than the core — richer caramel, baking spice, and dried fruit. Double Gold, NY International Spirits Competition 2021.

Single barrel, hand-selected, non-chill filtered at 104 proof. MGP 95/5 rye at full maturity. Named Best American Rye Whiskey at the 2025 London Spirits Competition (98 points). Dark fruit, oak, and a long spiced finish.

Annual limited release — uncut, non-chill filtered blend of the most noteworthy MGP barrels from the Templeton inventory. Proof varies slightly by vintage (~114.8 proof). Bold and complex with the full character of the 95/5 mashbill.

MGP straight rye whiskey blended with dark Port wine — not a barrel finish but a direct blend. Deep mahogany color with notes of dark berry, plum, and warming spice. A cocktail-forward expression for adventurous drinkers.

The landmark release (October 2025) — the first rye fully distilled, aged, and bottled at Templeton's Iowa facility. 95/5 mashbill, cask strength (~117 proof), non-chill filtered. Distilled through Forsyths copper stills, char #4 barrels, temperature-controlled warehouse. What the 2018 distillery build was working toward.

Templeton's first-ever bourbon and first own-distillate release to market (April 2024). High-rye mashbill: 55% corn, 40% rye, 5% malted barley, using corn sourced within 15 miles of the distillery. ~5.5 years, 92 proof, non-chill filtered. Gold Medal, 2024 LA Spirits Awards.
