Nico Freccia and Shaun O’Sullivan met in early 1995 in San Francisco. Both had just moved from southern California to the Bay area when they heard the calling of beer. O’Sullivan, a former photographer and paralegal, “traded his suits for boots and was saved by beer”. He moved to Berkeley and took a job as assistant brewer at the Triple Rock Brewery there. Freccia, a writer, actor and, by extension, restaurant professional, was also an avid homebrewer. Frustrated with the lack of beer culture in the L.A. area, he moved to San Francisco and began writing for the Celebrator Beer News, the west’s largest beer publication. Freccia and O’Sullivan met, became friends and, while sitting together in a summer class on brewing science at UC Davis, hatched their plan for what would become the 21st Amendment.
Alpha Acid Brewing Company was founded in fall of 2014 in Belmont, CA. We premiered our beer at the 2015 SF Beer Week Opening Gala and now distribute all around the SF Bay Area. Alpha Acid is owned & operated by local brewer & craft beer bar owner, Kyle Bozicevic. Our goal is to bring you quality local beer, one small batch at a time. We brew a myriad of unique beers; experimenting with ingredients every chance we get. We have a primary focus on dry, aromatic IPA’s, Adjunct Stouts, Fruited Sour Ales & Barrel-Aged Wild Ales that are sure to satisfy any beer enthusiasts palate.
Anderson Valley Brewing Company was founded on December 26th, 1987 in the town of Boonville, CA. In the beginning, we brewed out of a modest 10-barrel brewhouse located in the lower level of our original brewpub, The Buckhorn Saloon. At the time, we were one of only 20 craft breweries in the country and have long been considered one of the pioneers of the craft beer industry.For over 25 years, Anderson Valley Brewing Company has been hand-crafting authentic ales and lagers with balance and complexity and a passion for sustainable brewing practices. Our large solar panel array provides over 40% of our electrical needs, while 100% of our waste water is treated and used for the irrigation of our goat pastures and estate hop fields. In addition, our spent grain is given to local cows and spent hops are used as a natural fertilizer.
BarrelHouse was established in 2013 by co-owners Jason Carvalho and Kevin Nickell and longtime friend Chris Vaughn with a simple mission…bring together Good People, Good Times, and Great Beer. Since those early garage brewing days, BarrelHouse has quickly grown to be the largest family owned and operated craft brewery in San Luis Obispo County. Paired with an endless lineup of energetic bands and fun events, BarrelHouse is famously known for their delicious line-up of year-round beers: Sunny Daze, Mango IPA, BarrelHouse IPA, Juicy IPA and Big Sur. Owner and head brewer Ken Anthony has been a craft beer lover since the mid-1980’s. In August 2013, the first commercial batches of Device Brewing beer were produced. Our beers are on tap at select locations around the Greater Sacramento Area, Elk Grove, Roseville and Folsom. Figueroa Mountain Brewing Co. was founded by father and son team, Jim and Jaime Dietenhofer, in 2010. With a passion for craft beer, they set out to pay homage to the beautiful Santa Ynez Valley with handcrafted beer and hand-drawn artwork depicting the local landscape on their labels. Named after the mountain seen from their family home in Los Olivos, Figueroa Mountain Brewing Company opened in Buellton, California with only a handful of employees. In a short five years, the company has grown to become one of the fastest growing craft breweries in America and now has a staff of over 200 which they affectionately call the #FigFam.

In 2000, a group of coastsiders opened a casual family restaurant on Pillar Point Harbor in Half Moon Bay, CA, and in 2003 opened the first operating brewery on the San Mateo Coast since 1873. It was on February 2, 1989 that Karl Strauss Brewing Company officially opened its doors in downtown San Diego and kicked off the city’s craft beer industry. Happily, as Karl Strauss Brewing Company grew, so did the industry as a whole. San Diego quickly became home to more breweries, many of whom got their start with Karl Strauss. Brewers and beer enthusiasts alike came to Karl Strauss, learned about quality and consistency from the best, and went off to create their own breweries. To this day, we take great pride in having influenced many of the brewers that now make up the DNA of our local brewing community.
Knee Deep Brewing Co. is a family run independent Microbrewery that was born in the late Summer of 2010. When Knee Deep first started producing beer we started out “contract brewing” our beers at Mt. Tallac Brewing in beautiful Lake Tahoe. At first we only sold a few styles of beer (kegs only) within the Reno / Nevada market. Soon we began to flourish much faster than anticipated, and thats when all the fun started! We recently celebrated our 7th birthday and we are excited to announce that you can find our beers in 30 different states! Canada, Australia, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, and Singapore are also part of our distribution network with more to come by the end of 2017. The one thing that will not change at Knee Deep is the quality of our product. We continue to brew great beer and receive recognition and awards both locally and nationally. Los Angeles Ale Works was a dream project founded in 2010 by Kristofor “Kip” Barnes. In 2013, Los Angeles Ale Works launched its first beers into the marketplace following a successful Kickstarter fundraiser. Working with Ohana Brewing Co., Los Angeles Ale Works tenant-brewed proof of concept beers to gather valuable feedback from customers. In 2015, Barnes teamed up with Andrew Fowler to strengthen the business side of the organization. The team successfully raised capital, secured a new home in Hawthorne, California and prepared for its brick and mortar grand opening at the start of 2017.
Founded by local residents from Agoura HIlls, Ladyface Ale Companie was established in late 2009 along with its restaurant Ladyface Alehouse & Brasserie. Named LA Weekly’s 2013 Best Brewery in Los Angeles, and an international RateBeer.com Best Brewpub, Ladyface is known for their award-winning Belgian, French and American style ales. Ladyface is one of Los Angeles County’s first revival craft breweries, and the first in the Conejo Valley. In 2014, State Senator Fran Pavely awarded Ladyface as the California 27th District’s Small Business of the Year for its commitment to the local community.
LAST NAME Brewing is a craft brewery and taproom in Upland, Calif. We brew the kind of beer we like to drink. Beer that’s smooth, balanced and that pairs up well with food. Turns out other people like to drink it, too. Sometimes, they even like it enough to give it a gold medal (or two.) We’re not brewing beer to put trophies on our mantels, but it’s nice to be appreciated.
When Lost Coast brewed its first beer, there weren’t a lot of craft breweries in existence, especially in California. Small batch brewing – or microbrewing – wasn’t exactly a promising line of work, as few could take on the giants in the beer world. What started as a crazy experiment soon grew into a fledgling brewery based out of a 100-year-old building in downtown Eureka. Funny things happen when you consistently crank out great beer. Lost Coast continues to expand, gaining fans around the globe and outgrowing a couple brewing facilities along the way.

MadeWest is the result of two lifelong friends and Ventura natives seeking to share quality handmade craft beer with our community. Our vision is inspired by the spirit of our home state—a spirit of adventure, creative thinking and a healthy respect for the great outdoors—and by our passion for good beer, good design and overall good life experiences.
Mission Brewery was originally established in 1913. The brewery, like most breweries of the time, went out of business during the first year of Prohibition. In 2007, Dan Selis, an avid homebrewer, re-established the brand and eventually relocated the manufacturing and the tasting room to Downtown San Diego in the Historic Wonder Bread Building in the East Village.
We focus (non-monogamously) on aroma-driven, complex, flavorful, sessionish beers. We often brew hybrid styles, combining the features we like from established categories to create new, Island-Of-Doctor-Moreau-style mash-ups. Our tasting room is where we test different concepts, from variations on our core beers to experimental pilot batches. We hope to release some our more successful experiments in cans and bottles in the coming years.

We began Refuge Brewery nearly four years ago with a simple mission: Take the ideas and concepts of old world Belgian breweries and blend them with modern brewing techniques and styles. In 2015, Refuge grew nearly 300% and became the second fastest growing brewery in California. We use only the finest ingredients: domestic and imported malted barley and hops, yeast and water. And because we use no preservatives, you are guaranteed a fresh and natural glass of beer every time.
Second Chance is not just our name. It’s an impassioned mission, and a declaration of independence. With regard to the first, years before we opened, Co-Founders, Marty, Virginia, and Curtis, started salvaging items that would one day have a Second Chance in the brewery. For example, when Marty’s Mom replaced the fence at her Serra Mesa home, Marty said, “Don’t throw that away! We can use it in the brewery.” When Marty and Curtis’s former employer closed one of its locations, they asked to salvage tabletops and booths that otherwise were dumpster-bound. All of these things and more have been restored, upcycled and are now the cozy decor you enjoy when you visit our Carmel Mtn Ranch Brewery & TapRoom and North Park Beer Lounge.
Saul and Archie met through the LA arts community a few years back and bonded over a batch of mead, which they brewed while listening to Gregorian chant in Solarc’s current headquarters, a barnlike garage behind Saul’s house in Highland Park. After a few years of obsessively home brewing all sorts of magical potions and pouring their concoctions at art events around town, they decided to take it to the next level and launched Solarc Brewing in early 2015. They manifest their imaginations in many ways and treat every aspect of Solarc Brewing as their art, from designing labels and graphics, to designing recipes and creative events. They are constantly trying to expand their palates and yours.
Strike Brewing Company opened its doors at our South 10th Street location in San José in July of 2014. Our goal was to bring beer that was high quality, consistent, and innovative to a deserving San José which at that time was underrepresented in the greater craft beer community. Since our inception, we have won numerous awards and local and national competitions, collaborated with breweries and community groups, and established ourselves as a local hangout with an extensive taplist.
